Burger King Scholarship History
The scholarship program was created in 2000 in memory of James McLamore – co-founder of the Burger King McLamore Foundation. The Burger King Scholarship gives over $ 4.5 million to over 4,500 students globally every year.
The Burger King Scholarship offers financial awards to students who can use the scholarship fund to pay for their tuition, required books, and fees at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Canada.
Burger King Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible to apply for the Burger King Scholarship, interested students must;
- Be High School seniors living in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, or Canada.
- Have a cumulative high school GPA minimum of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0, or the equivalent.
- Demonstrate exceptional involvement in community activities through sports, volunteering, religious organizations, and/or clubs.

Any Field: The scholarship program is for high school seniors who are progressing toward graduation and planning to enroll in 2 or 4-year programs in higher institutions. It is open to students in any field of study.

This scholarship award is open to high school seniors schooling and residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, or Canada, and planning towards enrolling for undergraduate 2 or 4-year study at accredited colleges, universities, or vocational-technical schools in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Canada.

BURGER KING Employee-Based Track
This scholarship award is available to all employees, domestic partners/spouses of Burger King employees, as well as their dependent children currently pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies at accredited universities and colleges in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Canada.
Target Group
The Burger King Scholarship is for high school students who are currently studying in the United States of America, Puerto Rico, Guam, or Canada. The scholarship is also for Burger King employees, dependent children of employees, and domestic partners/spouses of employees.
Value/Inclusions
The Burger King Scholarship offers students financial awards from the range of $1,000 to $50,000. More than 43,000 students have been awarded over $50 million worth of scholarships since inception.
